Jean Guy 's Mothers Spaghetti Recipe

This will be my first attempt at blogging a recipe with pictures now I do not have the best of camera but I think it will turn out ok ! 


This Recipe is my BF favorite Spaghetti sauce his Grand Mother made it and so does his Mom still.
He showed me how to do it but like most recipes it does not come out the same from one person to the next .




Recipe 

2lbs of ground beef
2 large cans of tomato juice 
1 can of diced tomatoes
2 cans of tomato paste 
1 tbls of pure lard
1 medium onion
4-5 garlic cloves
4-5 bay leaves
1- 1/2  tsp of cayenne pepper
salt and pepper to taste 




Chop onion and garlic and saute with the lard in a large pot .Then add 1 can of tomato juice .
Then add 1-1/2 lbs of ground beef


(the other 1/2 lbs of ground beef will be used to make meatballs later)

Then add the diced tomatoes and cayenne pepper ,bay leaves, salt and pepper.
mix well and start adding the second can of tomato juice , bring to a boil then add the tomato paste.


Reduce the heat to about 3 or min heat . 



After a couple of hours add the meat balls.

Cook on low until the sauce is at desired thickness.

This usually takes 6-7 hours .
